Our Experience

2014-2024 Head Coach Princeton Tigers NCAA D-I

Led the Tigers to the 2018 ECAC Championship and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. It took just four years to turn the Tigers from worst to first. Spring of 2019, Princeton history was made as Ron developed three undrafted free agents into NHL signees on the same day. Max Véronneau with Ottawa, Ryan Kuffner with Detroit, and Josh Teves with Vancouver. All three went on to make their NHL debuts that same season. Ron captured his 200th career win as a head coach, on Feb. 2, 2018 after Princeton topped St. Lawrence 5-4.

2006-2014 Head Coach Adrian College NCAA D-III

Ron recruited a team from scratch and led the Bulldogs to unprecedented success as they set an NCAA single-season record for wins by a first-year program at 26-3. The program became the fastest hockey program to reach the NCAA tournament and 100 wins. The Bulldogs won 6 regular-season titles and won 5 Harris Cup playoff championships. Ron was named the MCHA Coach of the Year three times and was a four-time finalist for national coach of the year.

1996-2007 NCAA Assistant Coach

Ron's NCAA coaching career began one year after graduation, becoming the youngest NCAA Assistant Coach as he joined the Colgate University staff. Following 3 years at his alma mater, he coached at Clarkson University, winning an ECAC regular season championship. From 2002-06 Ron was an assistant coach at Bowling Green State University and helped the program move from last to contending for championships.

NCAA Playing Experience

A 1995 graduate, B.A. Education, of Colgate University. Ron was recruited from Sarnia, Ontario and named to the 1992 ECAC All-Rookie Team after finishing his freshman year with 40 points. As a senior captain at Colgate in 1995, he won Colgate’s Coaches Award, the Terry Slater Award, and competed in NCAA All-Star game. He left Colgate ranked 20th on the all-time scoring list with 141 points.
